The short version

DevToolery does not collect, transmit or store anything you type into a tool. There is no server that could receive it. Everything below is detail on that one fact.

Tool inputs

Whatever you paste stays in your browser's memory for as long as the page is open. It is processed by JavaScript running on your device. It is not uploaded, logged, cached or retained anywhere by us.

What is stored on your device

Only if you take an action that requires it: your theme and editor preferences, your favourites, a list of recently opened tool names, and any snippet you explicitly save. Preferences, favourites and recents live inlocalStorage; snippets live in IndexedDB. All of it stays on your device and can be inspected and deleted from the privacy centre.

Cookies

We do not set any. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Analytics

None. No page-view tracking, no product analytics, no session recording, no third-party tags. We do not know which tools are popular, which is why the “most reached for” list on the home page is described as curated rather than measured.

Server logs

The site is served as static files by a CDN. Like any web server, that CDN necessarily processes your IP address and user agent in order to send you the page. We do not use those logs to build a profile of you, and they contain no tool input because none is ever sent.

Your rights

Rights of access, deletion and portability under GDPR and similar laws apply to personal data a company holds about you. We hold none. The data on your own device is under your direct control: view it, export it or erase it from the privacy centre, without asking us.

Children

DevToolery is a developer utility with no accounts and no data collection, so there is no profile to create at any age.

Changes

If this policy ever changes in a way that affects what happens to your data, that will be visible in the changelog as well as here.
